Kickstarter: 'Scheherazade' starring Brian Blessed & Rory Bremner

I have a love for orchestral and classical music (albeit mostly score soundtracks) and I also have a love for the 1001 Nights or Arabian Nights stories and so to me, backing this Kickstarter project was a no-brainer!

'Scheherazade' starring Brian Blessed & Rory Bremner is the first CD from The Opus Pocus - a new project created by Matt Parry, a musician and music teacher based in the UK, to introduce kids to the awe-inspiring world of classical music through modern, witty, subversive, slapstick, action-packed, multimedia stories, all set to the symphony of 'Scheherazade' by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.

Reaching their funding target will allow them to create a digital pdf graphic novel to accompany the musical story, which will also provide loads of images for the interactive app, new website, musical ebooks and if they significantly surpass their target of £9000 then they can also do a physical print run of the novel BUT their big plan is to do some kids workshops and live shows.

With Jess Murphy, Sam Morris and Nigel Garton joining Brian Blessed and Rory Bremner on voicing duties on the CD, with the cover art by Jonny Duddle, the graphic novel will be illustrated by Faye Simms, who's work has been recently published by Templar ('The Practical Princess Guide' with Aleksei Bitskoff). The full novel is intended to be 42 pages, full colour, A4 size, and include 6 pages of info about the composer, the music and the instruments.  It'll be aimed at 7-10 years. However to get the project going they're doing this Kickstarter campaign for the first chapter of a total of three, which will be 12 pages long.
